Jan Tominic was born in 2004. As a young boy, he got hooked to the saxophone while listening to legends like John Coltrane and Charlie Parker.
Jan studies at the secondary Ferdo Livadic music school. Studying the saxophone under Prof. Tomislav Zuzek. He participated in a few competitions and festivals during his school education.
Jan participated in the 52nd Croatian competition of students of music and dance where became first in 2014. He won in the past two years at the Varazdin Woodwind & Brass international competition and gold plaque at the EMONA international Woodwind competition in Ljubljana. First prize at the national Croation competition of students of music and dance. At the Davorin Jenko international competition in Belgrade, he also won the first prize.
He won, in 2016, the Oscar of knowledge an played at the awarding ceremony. Awarded with the outstanding creative or intellectual achievement of the regional chamber music competition. Joining in a saxophone quartet from the Ferdo Livadic music school. Likewise in the Croation contest of students of music and dance. Participating in various festivals and workshops like the school of Saxophone in Jaska seminar. Joining the national festival of saxophone players from Croation elementary an secondary music schools. He also took part in jazz workshops with Sasa Nestorovic. Moreover, in the international guitar masterclass with prof. Lovro Mercep.
Jan at the present time is an active member of the Samobor town music orchestra.
